Question time!
What do you do at ChamberCustoms?
I joined ChamberCustoms in February 2022 and was immediately immersed headfirst into the world of customs. As Office Manager my role is super varied. There’s so much going on here; organising webinars, training courses and events, keeping on top of the latest customs guidance, helping customers with their import/export queries, marketing, reporting, the list goes on!
What’s your favourite bit of your job?
The variety! This is a clichéd answer I know, but honestly, no day is the same here, and every day you learn something new.
What advice would you give a business which is considering exporting overseas
Research! Between your customs clearance agent, HMRC and the ESS there’s so much information and support out there. It really helps having a good understanding of you, your customer, and your customs clearance agent’s roles and responsibilities in the exporting (and importing) process.
What do you enjoy doing when you’re not working?
I enjoy nothing better than going on a long hike with my dog, Buddy – he’s an 11yo Black Lab X. Maybe also wine and binging a good Netflix series!
If you could choose a superpower, what would it be?
To be a time master! There’s never enough of it 😅 But also, time travelling!
